These reclaimed boards sourced from barns across Pennsylvania are marked by a rich variety of color, texture, and character. Brown board lumber is found in a variety of species like oak, softwood and mixed hardwood, depending upon what local farmers found readily available on their land at the time in which the barn was built.
Eastern Hemlock and Cypress are favored for mushroom board due to their durability and rot resistance. Its rugged texture, rich consistent color tones and sizes lend themselves well to wall & ceiling cladding, exterior siding, door-making, and other large residential and commercial projects
Mixed reclaimed hardwood offers a variety of oak, hickory, beech, elm, ash, and maple wood panels that are carefully selected from centuries-old barns to compliment each space. This variety of wood species provides boards that display different grain patterns, historic markings, and tones ranging from light to dark brown.
Our weathered siding is sourced from Pennsylvania barns located on hills and in valleys. Some are covered in ivy, others experience the harshness of three seasons in one day. Multiply those conditions by 200 years, and the result is weathered siding.
Our log skins are unrivaled in character and beauty, as they are carefully selected from only the finest hand-hewn barn beams on Pennsylvania farms. Our log skins vary in width, coloration, and species—from hardwood to softwood beams. Dependent upon weathering conditions, log skins usually appear in shades from light grey to dark brown.
Our selection of barn beams includes pine, oak, and other species frequently available in our inventory. Hand-hewn beams, carved by hand centuries ago, remain our most popular type.
